        Itinerary Summary

Saturday, Oct. 3 Manoir Hautegente (Coly)
Rendezvous in Libourne (20 minutes from Bordeaux) in the mid-afternoon, and drive to the valley of the Dordogne. Various opportunities to break the 1 1/2 hour drive at historic monuments or places of interest along the way.
On arrival in the Dordogne, visit the prehistoric caves of Lascaux, before continuing to the Manoir Hautegente a short 10 minute drive down picturesque country lanes.
An ancient family home converted into a very elegant private hotel, Hautegente exudes history as our hostess Madame Hamelin tells us the story of the property and her family through the war years and before.
        Dinner in Hotel

Sunday, Oct. 4 Vieux Logis (Tremolat) Tour the scenic Dordogne:
The river, with Medieval castles around every bend Market towns such as Sarlat, Domme, Beynac etc
Troglodyte dwellings, grottoes, antique shopping etc.
Picnic by the river if weather permits, otherwise in a cosy local restaurant
Arrive at the luxurious Relais & Chateau the Vieux Logis in the village of Tremolat where we will dine this evening in the hotel’s superb restaurant.
Again, this ex-convent, ex-tobacco farm is steeped in history and has been turned into a wonderfully refined country retreat.
