Bordeaux Harvest Festival Wine Tour
The excitement of Bordeaux during the harvest period...
Exclusive visits to the best producers, luxurious accommodation and gourmet meals in the top chateaux and at the region's finest restaurants. A wonderful chance to see the action of the harvest whilst enjoying the decadence of a luxury vacation! Of course wine tasting is the central theme, and you'll have the opportunity to taste at least 50 wines during the week.
Hosted by Peter Smith, the owner of Avalon Tours, and his professional staff. A Bordeaux expert and personal friend of most of the people we visit, Peter's empathy with the French people will ease you comfortably into their culture.
The tour ends in St. Emilion, Bordeaux's prettiest, walled Mediaeval wine village, at the time of the most
important festival of the year: the Ban des Vendanges. Fireworks, dancing, theater and horsedrawn carts
laden with free wine throughout the village, at the Fete des Patrimoines. In addition, you will benefit
from Peter's reputation in Bordeaux in being able to join him at the Festival banquet of the Jurade, the
Confrerie of Winemakers of St. Emilion.
A four-hour, six course extravaganza, accompanied by a dozen of
St. Emilion's finest wines. This is a private lunch and numbers are limited, so priority is given to the first
guests to reserve for the tour.
With everything taken care of, just relax and enjoy the wine-lover's vacation of a lifetime!
